The search for a real estate agent began once we considered selling our family home. We quickly realized there were two types of agents. The first were agents who got your listing, put their sign on your lawn, put an ad in the paper, organized an open house and waited for a buyer to come. These agents we discovered tend to sell only a few houses a year. The second group of agents maintain a full time office staff and have a network of professional associates to advise and assist in the preparation of your home for sale. Jon Brock proved to be a leader in the latter group. Jon demonstrated a true passion, ethical processes and commitment to selling homes. From my first contact Jon’s direct communication and follow up was impressive plus a monthly newsletter which communicated pertinent information about current market trends. His regular updates gave us the confidence to make the final decision when it was appropriate for us to place our house on the market for sale. Jon developed a professional relationship with our entire family which earned him the endearing title of “Real Estate Jon”. Real Estate Jon determined the optimal date to place our home on the market not only the day but to the hour. He presented us with a price range that was realistic, leading us to comfortably make a pricing decision. Also, he sent in his team to assist us in preparing our home to be presented in the best possible light for a buyer. His associates gave excellent suggestions and timelines for us to follow. Jon provided names of reliable trades people to assist with the task that were beyond our abilities. Jon has a process for marketing which goes beyond putting a sign on the lawn; he publishes a high-quality brochure, creates a professional video and displaying our home on its own website. The results were amazing! Despite being in what everyone called a very poor market, Real Estate Jon booked 45 showings within the first day that produced 4 valid and competing offers culminating in the sale closing in 36 hours for over asking price. Yet this was not the end of his involvement. Jon and his wonderful staff remained in close contact right up to closing to ensure all went smoothly.

The reality of real estate in Toronto and the adjacent areas is that you have to be quick, REALLY quick. You need an agent who you can count on literally at any time of the day to be there for you, and Jon is that guy! We went from seeing the place to making an offer and to buying the place within 12 hours really. Jon worked tirelessly throughout the process – all the way up to past midnight to ensure all the paperwork was in order once we were committed to making an offer on our new home. He also managed to negotiate timelines that worked in our favour rather than leave the market open to bidding. If Jon hadn’t stepped up, we wouldn’t be homeowners today.

On a personal note, I found Jon to be very level-headed and forthcoming in our discussions. His assessments of property values helped us gauge what we really could and couldn’t afford. Jon and his team are amazing. I am the son of a semi-retired agent, so I know the industry and normally we wouldn't go looking for an Agent but we would handle it ourselves. But we had to sell a property I was a 3 hour drive away from us and the logistics were impossible. I was very picky about who I worked with and Jon came to me through a referral.
